The historical name for this wide baroque residence is Hotel Van der Gracht de Rommerswael. It was purchased in 1755 by a nobleman with that throbbing name, but it was built a whole century previously. It remained in possession of the nobility until it was sold in 1839-40 to the Poor Clare nuns. They added a corner building to serve as a chapel. At festivities it was tradition to bring salt and eggs to the nuns so that they would pray for nice weather. Since 1970 building is a private home for the elderly.
